Handi-Transit Rates
Effective November 2008


Transportation of Mobility Disadvantage Clients in RM & Village Boundaries:
$5.00 per person
$0.50 per loaded km which means client gets charged from when he or she is picked up to / until he or she is dropped off
$39.00 set fee for driver (3 hours) + waiting fee of $13.00 per hour after the 3 hours.

Transportation for up to 100 Kms
$10.00 per person with a minimum of $120.00 includes
$52.00 set fee for driver up to 4 hours
After the 4 hours a charge of $13.00/hr will apply for driver

Transportation of up to 200 Kms and up
$12.00 per person with a minimum of $150.00 includes
$65.00 set fee for driver up to 6 hours
After the 6 hours a fee of $13.00/hr will apply.
Over the 200 Kms a fee of $0.50 Km will apply.

Transportation for outside Municipal Boundaries
$8.00 per person
$0.50 per km starting at van storage location until return to van storage location.
$13.00 per hour for driver from van storage location until return to van storage location

Reservations:
Should be reserved at least 48 hours in advance.

Capacity
A class 4 license is mandatory to operate the Handi-Transit

Handi-Transit Capacity
18 seats plus one wheel chair
16 seats plus two wheel chairs
12 seats plus three wheel chairs

Utilization
The Handi-Transit is designed to be utilized as a means of transportation for the Mobility Disadvantaged, Senior Citizens and the General Public to and from appointments.

The Handi-Transit will not be used as an Ambulance Service since the Handi-Transit drivers are not qualified to administer first aid.

That no alcohol be permitted in the van.

That the Handi-Van drivers must be selected from the approved driver's list. (Any additional drivers are to be authorized at the discretion of the RM or Village CAO or designated assistant). Drivers will be required to bring a copy of their license on a yearly basis.

If the Handi-Van is required for appointments then the social requests will be cancelled.

Note:
There is no charge for those attending to the person/patient. It is not the driver's responsibility to take care of the patient or persons using the Handi-Transit. If they require help, they must be accompanied.
