Community Development

Chaboillé Community
Development Corporation

History
The CDC is named after Charles Chaboillé, an entrepreneur, a bourgeois in the North-West Company, who had, in 1796, established a small fort along the Rat River to conduct fur trade commercial activities in our region.

Mandate
The mission is as follows: Develop and maintain a program of socio-economic development that will foster the viability and sustainability of the whole community.

The Chaboillé CDC was established in 1996 to bring together the Rural Municipality of De Salaberry and the Village of St-Pierre-Jolys in a common objective of encouraging entrepreneurial activity within the region. It is available to help individuals, groups and businesses currently residing, or operating, in the community and also for those from outside who wish to invest in our future. The CDC is here to complement, not replace, the movers and shakers in the community who make things happen. Community leaders are still required whether it is in a Chamber of Commerce, the Knights of Columbus, the Métis Local or other organizations.

Accomplishments
Due to an intensive consultation process conducted with the assistance of the "Main Street Revitalization Program" many projects have since been coordinated or initiated by the Chaboillé Development Corporation. Go to their website to read about accomplishments such as:
